What is Nose Job (Rhinoplasty)?
Nose job (Rhinoplasty) is a common surgery for improving shape, size and structure of nose. During this surgery, the surgeon modifies the length, width and form of nose in a way that adds to the beauty of your face and also makes you breath easier if you have breathing problem for any reason.
Rhinoplasty is a low risk surgery with local anesthesia and sometimes general anesthesia and usually lasts less than 2 hours. This surgery is performed with two different techniques i.e. open and closed nose job. You may think which technique is more appropriate for you. You can find your answer for this question after medical examination and discussing your expectations with your physician.
In open nose job, the surgeon usually makes a small inverted V shaped incision in the columella between the nostrils, thereby having access to different cartilaginous and bone parts of nose. Generally, open nose job (rhinoplasty) is an appropriate method for major facial modifications particularly on the tip of nose.
In closed nose job (rhinoplasty), the surgical incisions are created within the nostrils and there is no external incision on the skin and through it most necessary changes on the nose bones can be performed. In this technique, there will be less visible bruising and swelling on face.
